Ford Coyote Hi-Ram and Ultra Lo-Ram Manifolds

Holley has just introduced a pair of the most effective manifold designs ever built for Ford’s potent Coyote series of V8s. These manifolds draw on the company’s decades of experience engineering components for street, race, and dual-purpose cars. The resulting manifolds are terrific upgrades for a wide range of vehicles, in nearly any application. And, if that’s not enough, these manifolds readily accept extensive modifications to suit individual needs and situations.

Designed to complement the unique characteristics of the Ford Coyote engine, Holley Hi-Ram and Ultra Lo-Ram intake manifolds offer better response and acceleration in the mid-to-high power band, and they’re a seamless fit for the 2011-2023 Coyote-based powerplant family. These manifolds fit stock-bolt-pattern factory heads on 2011-up Ford 5.0-liter Coyote motors, with applications for supercharged variants, Voodoo, and its replacement, the Predator motor too.

The Holley Hi-Ram and Ultra Lo-Ram have a more compact size versus the Ford Performance Cobra Jet manifold, while still clearing all factory Mustang hoods from 2015 up. At the same time, these Holley manifolds are designed to be modular – users can open them to easily port the manifold. Inside, the bosses of the injectors are streamlined to reduce turbulence, as the aim is for a higher volume of air to slip unimpeded past surfaces, bends, and openings.

Holley’s Coyote manifolds are made of durable cast aluminum, which provides superior levels of boost pressure handling compared to the factory plastic manifold. It also means they can be changed to a greater degree, to tailor the manifold for different applications. “For forced induction stuff, these are far stronger than the OEM manifolds,” says Jim Dralle of Holley. “Plus, owners can modify it, port it, tap it, or weld it. They can even add an intercooler. This makes the Holley Lo-Ram and Hi-Ram a solid starting point for a variety of modifications that the OEM manifold just can’t handle.”

The Lo-Ram version has a real stealth element to it – it’s able to clear all 2011-2023 Mustang hoods and it’s even a bit shorter in length and height than the Ford Cobra Jet manifold. Up front, the intake inlet can be ordered to accept oval GT500-style throttle bodies or 93mm round inlets for GT350. Additionally, Predator or GM four-bolt LS throttle body styles can also be accommodated, depending on your piping preference. And 2011-2013 adapter plates can be added to work with all GT-style throttle bodies. This versatility allows the manifold to work with practically any likely configuration – mild like a pony, or wild like a menace to society with a supercharger or turbo system that otherwise would never fit under the OEM hood.

The engineering behind these Holley manifold designs has been proven on the street and track to be very effective on Coyote, Voodoo, and Predator motors. Using 9.2-inch runner lengths, the mid-to-high RPMs see immediate benefits, while the Lo-Ram is the simple choice for relatively low-impact easy bolt-ons, with supplied fuel rails that work with factory-style injectors.

The Hi-Ram is a bit of a different animal. First, the front portion can be swapped to accommodate either round 93 mm or massive 150 x 66 mm oval throttle bodies. The modular two-piece design allows for water-to-air intercooler options as well. The extra dimensions mean more air can be crammed in there – a whopping 20-percent increase, totaling 9.8-liters (8.2-8.4 liters in the Lo Ram)

But what does all this mean for performance gains? Obviously, there are nearly infinite combinations of Coyote-powered Mustangs. Every swap has its quirks, and all are dependent on the tune to make modifications play nice together. Horsepower gains are more significant on extensively modified engines, of course. But these manifolds can be modified and combined with such a wide array of different methods and components that the sky is really the limit as far as what can be achieved with them.

“We have loads of testing and data on the manifold with places where it had better response and drivability in the mid-to-high RPM ranges,” says Dralle. “So it’s a great upgrade. But its really important quality is its superior cast and modular designs. The 3/16” cast-aluminum walls offer many advantages.” And so, the product is a good jumping off point for your next moves. Are you getting a bigger throttle body? Will you throw in bigger injectors? Or are you going forced induction? Holley Hi-Ram and Ultra Lo-Ram manifolds can handle it all on your Coyote.

Whether you want an extra power bump with your factory fresh GT or you want to create havoc with forced induction builds, the Holley Coyote, Predator, Voodoo Hi-Ram and Ultra Lo-Ram aluminum intake manifolds will give your engine what it needs.

With these benefits and the many other advantages Holley Hi-Ram and Ultra-Lo Ram manifolds offer, they’re a great performance value. And for those who need something more than the stock versions of these manifolds can deliver right off the shelf, there’s plenty of room to modify them to fit your exact requirements. Either way, they’re exactly what your Coyote needs to give it more bite to match its bark.
